Well we have finally finished the Help Update - which did take us a lot longer then expected. I did most of the work on it, and I had forgotten how BIG ESBPCS had gotten - which I suppose is a good thing ;-)
We have to finish off updating the Installer to handle the new Help. If all goes well, we will have ESBPCS v4.5 out by the end of the week.
We then will finish off testing and tidying up the code for ESBPCS v5 release - which as mentioned earlier will be Unicode supporting for Delphi 2009 and C++ Builder 2009.
Please note that for ESBPCS v5, we will be supporting Delphi 7 and above (Native Windows versions of the VCL). If you need to use Delphi 5, Delphi 6, BCB 5 and/or BCB6 then you will need to stick with ESBPCS v4.5
Also ESBPCS v5 will no longer maintain the deprecated features for ESBPCS v2 support and earlier - this has been an option in the install and it won't be there anymore. So anyone who has been using ESBPCS in their projects for a long time, may want to ensure that they are using ColorSets and UICtrls rather than the old "direct" Colour and Effect Properties. Given our "slow" phase out I doubt this will effect many people.
For ESBPCS v5 we will not be just bundling JPM Components but integrating them more completely into the Base Packages. So you may need to change to using TESBColorComboBox, TESBFontComboBox, TESBColorListBox and TESBFontListBox when ESBPCS v5 comes out. We will make JPM available on our Website for those who wish to continue using it.
Anyway, I better get back into playing with the Installers - more news soon.
