V4, WPTools 6 & D2006
May be a bug, may be me.

Just installed, opened my app, open a form, get lots of squiggly underlines as expected. Try to select dictionary. Right click, Select spelling, select options, select language, select locate dictionaries, navigate to the directory where I unzipped the British dictionary I downloaded, when I return I'm not show the dictionary in the list.

Now when I right click on a word that is correctly spelt the menu appears but clicking on spelling does nothing. I have to deliberately mis-spell a word for the spelling option to do anything.

Also all the squigglesremain apart from on the words I've right clicked.

Roy,

Are you using the latest parser?

Have you grabbed the WPTools 6 / Addict demo from:

http://www.addictivesoftware.com/3rdparty.htm

I have WPTools 6 installed in the Office and can look further on Monday :)

I think I have. I used the parser only link but checking it the last item in the history is dated 14-Nov-2006. It has to be something like that because the other dialogs work correctly.

So Roy, do you experience problems with the WPTools 6 / Addict 4 demo from
the 3rd Party page - or is all okay now :)

Just downloaded the demo, ran from 7zip so that the path to the dictionary was definitely not going to be found. I then use the right click dialog to select a dictionary.

1. The dialog to find the dictionary was not the standard one but the alternative shown in the Addict 4 Demo and does show the dictionaries in the selected directory

2. There is still the problem with the squiggly underlines after the dictionary has been selected. Even if I use the menu option to do a whole document spell check the correctly spelled words are skipped but the underline is left in place.

3. Also if you right click a correctly spelled word with the squiggly underline you get the pop up menu with suggestions and the option for "spelling...". If you click"spelling..."nothinghappens.

Ah - I've tested with this demo having the dictionaries present, which seems
to work okay - the Addict Author is looking further into this. Thanks for
the detailed example.

Yep, it seems a lot of my time goes toward finding, fixing, and working around bugs in the components I use. :-(

I love components that just work!

I just checked with the Author yesterday - and he hadn't yet got to that one
- sorry - shouldn't be much longer...
